At Bethel Children’s Center, our approach is simple and focused: "Let us prepare children for success in life." Operating from our Godagama Head Office, we believe that every child possesses an inherent potential that, when properly nurtured, can transform not only their own life but the entire community.
The "Bethel Way" is a journey of holistic development, ensuring that every child is healthy, educated, and grounded in strong values.
Our Core Pillars of Service
We focus on the essential foundations that allow a child to grow into a successful and compassionate adult:
- Educational Support: We provide essential tuition in Mathematics, English, and Computer Literacy. By bridging the gap in these core subjects, we give children the practical tools they need to navigate the modern world with confidence.
- Health & Physical Care: A child cannot learn if they are unwell. Through our Dental Clinics, Medical Aid, and School Nutrition Programs, we ensure that every child has the physical vitality to pursue their dreams.
- A Virtuous Foundation: We don't just teach skills; we build character. We focus on nurturing a virtuous personality, teaching children the value of kindness, integrity, and reaching out to help others.
- Strengthening the Home: We believe the home should be a place of growth. Through Home Gardening initiatives and Economic Guidance, we help families become self-sufficient, creating a stable environment where children can thrive.
A Growing Mission Across Sri Lanka
From our roots in Seethawaka, where we serve over 750 active members, the Bethel mission is spreading light across the island.
- Current Reach: We are actively working in Nuwara Eliya, Badulla, Trincomalee, and Puttalam.
- New Horizons: Our teams have recently extended support to children in the Anuradhapura district (Talawa and Thambuthegama), and we are currently laying the groundwork for new centers in Jaffna and Galle.
The Power of Every Rupee
The Bethel Way is built on the collective kindness of the community. We are deeply moved by those who collect small donations—often 500 and 1,000 rupee notes—to contribute to our mission. Whether the gift is large or small, every cent is a sacred trust used directly for the benefit of the children.
The "Tree of Success" mural at our office serves as a living reminder of our progress. Each handprint represents a child who is being prepared for a life of success, purpose, and joy.
"At Bethel, we don't just see children as they are; we see them for who they can become. Together, let us prepare them for life."
