At Bethel Children’s Center (BCC), we believe that every child’s life is like a journey. When blocked by the obstacles of poverty, neglect, or lack of opportunity, that journey can come to a standstill. Our mission is to clear those paths and restore the momentum toward a dignified future.

From a Difficult Past... Consider the story of a young boy we will call "Sahan." When Sahan first came to our center in Avissawella, his world felt very small. He was stuck in a cycle of dependency, unsure if he would have the basic supplies for school or a steady meal for the evening.

...To a Bright Future The transformation was a steady process of building security:

• The School Kit: Receiving a "Dignity Daily" pack was the first step. Suddenly, he looked like every other student. He belonged.
• The Workshop: In our carpentry shop, Sahan discovered the strength of his own hands. The first time he smoothed a piece of wood, he realized he could build his own future.
• The Safe Harbor: With the steady guidance of mentors and the protective environment of BCC, Sahan’s confidence began to grow.
